The Ask

The Expansion

As you may know, we’re expanding DIY-style into our next door unit to grow grow grow the centre - adding more climbing, more boards, more gym space - but we need your help!

It’s a tough time being an indie in London at the moment. Everyone is a bit more squeezed for cash, climbing doesn’t feel ‘cool’ anymore, and to stay alive we’re competing in a very saturated space (not least with closures, acquisitions, and chain gyms all around us). 

We’ve explained a bit about why we’re expanding in the video, but basically it boils down to, we need to. The gym is just about getting by, but to stick around in the London market, we need to evolve and get better. We don't want to pull the old 'we're putting our prices up so we can keep growing' move, though - in fact, our prices haven’t gone up since 2024!

The expansion will increase our beginner-friendly climbing, hard climbing, board, and gym offerings. This will allow us to be more flexible with the space, and maintain a better overall product. New additions will be: 

  • A board room on the ground floor with Rise Spray Board, Moon Board, and NEW TENSION BOARD 2 

  • A new slab wall on the first floor so we can have MORE CLIMBING ROUTES

  • An extension to the existing gym with some more space and more equipment, including another rack and a cable machine

The Demolition Derby

You may know that we are expanding into our next door unit. We will be joining the 2 spaces together through the wall by the current Rise board. When the next door space is close enough to being ready, we will knock through the wall to create a continuous space. You can be part of that!

Pay us anything from £2 to £20 to £200 to enter

  1. Buy raffle tickets

  2. Wait until Sunday 25th Jan (ish) to find out if you have been drawn - dw we will send out a reminder when this is actually happening.

  3. We will try and schedule the knocking down on a day that you are available (no promises here tho - we gotta do the work when it needs to be done)

  4. You will come to the gym and try and fit in James or Conor’s spare steels

  5. You will knock down the wall* (*help)

  6. There will be a plaque commemorating the wall knocking down!!! ** (**this could be a framed polaroid with a sharpie caption - it ain’t gonna be toooo elegant)

  7. We will film it and go viral, queues round the block, whooopaaaa success to the moon, we make £15million and WE buy the Font

  8. THE T&C
    Let’s be honest this is a joke prize, the priority is the build, so we will need a bunch of additional help on the day. However, as the raffle winner the important thing is that you will be remembered for eternity as the person who carried the expansion programme on their back - literally the whole thing - we couldn’t have done it without you, magnanimous benevolent raffle winner.
