Himalaya’s Daughters is a documentary film featuring the people of Lakshmi Ashram, a women-led, community run organisation in North India.

Established in 1946, Lakshmi Ashram has provided thousands of girls and women from underprivileged backgrounds with education, employment and the skills to become self-sufficient.

Dipika Hopkins was brought up in Lakshmi Ashram and spent most of her childhood there with her parents, both of whom have been working at the Ashram since the 1970s.

Having originally shot the film in 2016, it wasn't until she returned to Lakshmi Ashram in December 2024 that Dipika felt inspired to release the film to a wider audience, with the aim to share the stories of these strong women in the hope to inspire others.
